“I always want to move to that next bigger and better thing” Corey Smith states very deliberately. And that is what the four-year old Tribute Media of Meridian, Idaho has done since it began. Tribute Media handles an array of Web services from design to online marketing to social media and beyond. “If it has to do with the Web, we do it” he says frankly.
Well, not everything. The company offered hosting at one time, seeing it as a revenue stream. But they soon decided the service was outside of what they did well and found an outside partner. They have thrived and prospered due in large part to their corporate philosophy. “We have a willingness to ask others. There are a lot of resources available to small businesses”, he explains. A good example is finance. Corey knew the company needed an expert but didn’t need one full time. He asked a CPA to be their part-time CFO; problem solved.
Corey started the company after the typical entrepreneur “layoff.” He has grown his business to 11 and that growth has now become his next big challenge. “We are on the cusp of significant growth”, he says with enthusiasm tempered with reverence for the challenge ahead. A key ingredient of that growth will come with the release of his book, Do It Right: A CEO’s Guide to Web Strategy. We think we know the book’s ending and it’s a happy one for Corey.
From their website: Tribute Media offers website design and website search engine optimization services. We work with our clients to ensure that their website is aligned with their over-all business strategy.
